Bilaspur District
History:
Bilaspur is a state of Himachal Pradesh, India. Its capital is in the city of Bilaspur. Bilaspur was the capital of a 7th-century empire, and it became known as Kahlur after its former capital, or Bilaspur after its later capital. The ruling monarch was Chandela Rajputs, who claimed to be a descendant of the Chanderian rulers in present-day Madhya Pradesh. The village of Bilaspur was founded in 1663. The region later became the largest province of British India, and was part of the British province of Punjab.
