Bastar District

History:

Bastar is a Chhattisgarh State province Historically, the Dandakaranya region in the Ramayana region and is part of the Kosala kingdom in the Mahabharata. The Bastar monarchy was established about 1324 AD, when Anaam Dev, Pratap Rudra Dev (1290-1325) left Warangal and established his monarchy at Bastar. After Maharaja Ananam Dev, Maharaja Hamir Dev, Baital Dev, Maharaja Purushottam Dev, Maharaj Pratap Dev, Dikpal Dev, Rajpal Dev ruled the empire. The first capital of the Bastar dynasty settled in the city of Bastar and was transferred to Jagdalpur.
