History:
Botad District is located in the newly formed Saurastra Bhavnagar and Ahmedabad District of Gujarat State. The regional capital is Botad which is 92 km from Bhavnagar and 133 km from Ahmedabad by road. The Botad region is surrounded by the northeastern Surndranagar District, the Rajkot counties in the west, the Bhavnagar and Amareli counties in the south and the Ahmedabad District in the East. The Kalubhar River flows into the southern part of the Botad district of Gadhada taluka.

The Clock Tower at Botad was considered a milestone when development began to take place during the reigns of Maharaja Krushna Kumar Singhaji and Takht Singhji (Bhavnagar State). The clock tower was built by Shri Damodardar Jagjivan. Today, Tower Chalk is a business center in the city.
