About Dangs

History:

Dang is a southeastern district of Gujarat in western India. The administrative headquarters of the district are located in Ahwa. The origin of the name Dang is uncertain before the Freedom A few wars were fought between the five kings of the Dang tribes and the British Raj. According to Dang's history, the largest battle took place in 'Lashkaria Amba', where the kings of all five provinces came together to defend Dang from British rule.

Dang has been home to adivasis living in the forests and highlands of the Dangs region since time immemorial. Shri Hanumanji is believed to have been born in Anjani Kund here. The district is famous for its clean and beautiful Saputara Hill Station.
