History:

Junagadh is the regional capital of Junagadh in the Indian state of Gujarat. History says that the ancient names of Junagadh were Karankubj, Manipur, Revant, Chandraketupur, Narendrapur, Girinagar and also known as Puratanpur. After 1820 AD the British Government. gave the name Junagadh which is registered by the State and is well known in the community. However, rural people today still refer to it as Junagadh. In AD 640, Chinese explorer Huen Sang visited Junagadh.
