About Dahod


History:

Dahod County came into existence after the division of Panchmahal District on 2/10/197 The district is surrounded by Sabarkantha District and Vansvada District of Rajasthan Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb was born in the Dahod castle in 1618, during the reign of Jahangir. Aurangzeb is said to have instructed his ministers to love the city, as it was his birthplace. He is believed to have survived his last days in the region. Previously it was within the boundaries of Panchmahal District.
