History:

Rajkot is the fourth largest city in the state of Gujarat, India, after Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Surat, and is located in the heart of the Saurashtra region of Gujarat. Rajkot has been under various rulers since its inception. It has a long history and contributed greatly to the Indian independence movement. Rajkot's history states that Rajkot was founded in 1612 by Thakur Shaheb Vibhaji Ajoji Jadeja of the Jadeja family. During British rule, it was the regional capital.
