The history of Kachch, the westernmost region of the Indian subcontinent west of Gujarat, can be traced back to prehistoric times. The modern history of the Kachchh can be traced back to its conquest by the Sindh tribes of the Sama Rajputs. This happened or was at least completed during the fourteenth century.
