History:

Navsari was originally known as "Navasarika", and was the capital of the vishya Chalukyas of Navasarika, which ruled the area around Navsari as subordinate. Navsari, also spelled Naosari, is a town in the southeastern state of Gujarat, in northwestern India. It is found in the lowlands along the Purna River. Navsari is home to Parsis, a descendant of Zoroastrians from Persia, and it contains its most revered temples of fire. The city is a marketplace for cotton, sorghum, and timber, and it specializes in processing, weaving, metal, and leather industries.
