History:
During the reign of the Marathas, Cuttack flourished as a center of trade and commerce and became a central exchange market between the Marathas of Nagpur and the English merchants of Bengal and the Northern Circar. Cuttack is the former capital and second largest city in the Indian state of Odisha. It is the county headquarters of Cuttack. The name of the city is the English version of Kataka, meaning Fort, which refers to the ancient Banza Tower.
