History:
Malkangiri prefecture is a region southwest of the Indian state of Odisha. It has two districts of Vidhan sabha and has a population of over 600,000. It is a racially diverse region. The history of Malkangiri seems less fascinating and exciting than any other part of India. During the reign of King Ramachandra, Malkangiri occupied an important place throughout the 'Ramayana'. The district is known as Malyavantagiri in Ramayana, and it is believed that Sitakunda was the site of the Sita bath, near Mudulipada.
