History:

The word "Tiran" comes from the Gallo word "chi" for water and "rang" for wealth. The Chirang district is one of the four districts of the Bodoland Territorial Area District (BTAD) under the government. From Assam. The Chirang district is an administrative district in the Bodoland territorial region of Assam, northeastern India. The Tiran area was excised from the Bongai Gaon area in 2004. In 1990, the Tiran district became the home of Manas National Park.
