History:
Nagaon [nɔgaʊ zila] is the administrative district of the Indian state of Assam. At the time of the 2011 census, it was the most populous province in Assam before the Hojai region was divided into it in 2016. The provincial capital is located in Nagaon. After the Ahoms later defeated the Kacharis, the king sent one official named Momai Tamuli. Barbaruah rebuilding the area. New homes were built and people eventually settled in these cities.
