About Dibrugarh
History:
Dibrugarh is an industrial city in northern Assam with a vast tea plantation. It is located 435 km east of the state capital, Dispur. In 1842 Dibrugarh was declared the headquarters of the Rakinpur district. During World War II, the city was a major military base and was used as a transit camp for refugees from Burma. In 1971, the Dibulgal Subdivision itself became a full-fledged district.
