About Darrang


History:

Darrang is an administrative district in Assam, India. The district headquarters is located in Mangaldoi. In 1826, Darrang, like the rest of Assam, fell into the hands of England under the Treaty of Yandabo (Treaty of Yandabo). After establishing its authority, the government of society began to rebuild, and in 1833 Darrang became a Mangaldai-based district. In 1984, the Sonitopur district was formed from a part of Darragn.

Darrang is connected to the famous "BYA SOJAS". Some villages are named after Byas Ojas. This is where Byas para is located. Darrang is also famous for his songs such as "Dhepadhol," "Bardhol," "Mohkunda song," "Suknanni Oja," and "Siya Geet," which help enrich Assam's colorful heritage.
