About Darrang
History:
Darrang is an administrative district in Assam, India. The district headquarters is located in Mangaldoi. In 1826, Darrang, like the rest of Assam, fell into the hands of England under the Treaty of Yandabo (Treaty of Yandabo). After establishing its authority, the government of society began to rebuild, and in 1833 Darrang became a Mangaldai-based district. In 1984, the Sonitopur district was formed from a part of Darragn.
