History:
Hailakandi is one of the 33 districts of Assam in northeastern India. Build Baraki Valley near Cachar and Karimganj. It was built as a community subdivision on 1 June 1869. Next, it was developed into a district in 1989, when it was separated from the Cachar district. Located in the heart of the Barak valley, Hailakandi was one of the oldest forms of Assam. established June 1, 1869. at the time of the split namely between 1946-47, Shri U.C. Roy, ACS was a subordinate official in Hailakandi.

The city of Hailakandi is not a shopping mall. However, the area is famous for its beautiful handicrafts made of wood, mask, and paintings found throughout the city.
