History:
Agar Malwa District is a district located in the Madhya Pradesh region of India. It was recorded in the Shajapur district. The history of the city dates back to the beginning of prehistoric times. Its administrative headquarters are located in the city of Agar. It was a sub-district of the Madhya Bharat region after India's independence until 1956. As of 16 August 2013 Agar Malwa became the 51st district of Madhya Pradesh. The district was built by removing Agar, Badod, Susner and Nalkheda tehsils from Shajapur District, reducing its size.

Baijnath Mahadev Temple is one of the major tourist and religious sites of the Agar-Malwa region. This is the only Indian temple built by the English. The temple is located on the banks of the Banganga River.
