Barwani District
History:
Barwani District is one of the districts of Madhya Pradesh in the Indian state. The regional administrative headquarters are located in Barwani. The region is located on the southwest corner of Madhya Pradesh. The city of Barwani was the capital of the old Barwani Province before 1948. This small Province was saved by the British, the Mughals and the Marathas because of its rocky soil and barren land. The Rana dynasty ruled the empire throughout history. The history of this empire goes back to the 13th century.
Famous:
Barwani has a Historical symbol known as TIR-GOLA. It is located on Khandwa-Baroda Road, in front of Sagar Vilas Palace and is erected as a monument to the late Raja Ranjit Singh's son. Before Independence Barwani was known as the 'Paris of Nimar'.
