History:
Seoni District is the state of Madhya Pradesh in central India. The city of Seoni is the regional capital. The region was established on November 1, 1956. The name of the region is derived from the word 'Seona', a type of tree commonly found in the area. Seoni was founded in 1774. The city is now an important thoroughfare and railway center for the main east-central commercial center of the Satpura Range. Fabric weaving, sawing, oil milling, and the production of shellac and lac bangles are important industries.
