Shivpuri District is a district of Madhya Pradesh in India. The city of Shivpuri is the regional capital. National Road 3 (NH-3) runs through the region.The history of this area dates back to the Mughal period. The dense forests of Shivpuri once served as royal hunting grounds. Located at an altitude of 478 meters above sea level, the city is connected to some of the most spectacular attractions, making it a very peaceful tourist destination.

Shivpuri is famous for its intricately decorated marble chambers erected by Scindia rulers. Chhatris is set in detail. It is also famous within Madhav National Park, at the highest point, representing the magnificent George Castle at 484.
