History:
Damoh Province is the state of Madhya Pradesh in central India. The city of Damoh is the regional capital. The region is part of the Sagar Division. Damoh was part of Malwa province during the reign of Mughal emperor Akbar. Most of the ancient temples of Damoh were demolished by the Mughals, and the material was used to build fortresses. Damoh gained prominence in the 14th century under Muslim rule and was the seat of the Maratha emperor.
