Tikamgarh District
History:
Tikamgarh District is one of the 52 districts of Madhya Pradesh in central India. The city of Tikamgarh is the regional capital. The region is part of the Sagar Division. It is located east and southeast of the Chachaura District of Madhya Pradesh. The district takes its name from the city capital as Tihri, Orchha Province. In 1783 Raja Vikramajit relocated his capital from the city of Orchha to Tihri and renamed it Tikamgarh but it was officially recognized in 1887.
Famous:
The village is known for planting betel leaves. The significance of the city is also in its famous temple of 'Vindhya Vasini Devi'. The seven-day annual Vindhyavasani exhibition is held here in the month of Chaitra and is attended by about 10,000 people.
