Harda District


History:

Harda is a city and municipality in the Harda region of India, Madhya Pradesh. Harda is the administrative headquarters of Harda. For the purpose of managing the Tahsil Harda was established in 1913. In India's liberation struggle, Harda's freedom fighters were on the front lines. In 1916 Lokamanya Tilak visited Harda which had given more congressional power to Harda. On 08-12-1933 Mahatma Gandhi visited Harda in Harijan.

Famous:

It is a popular tourist destination and sanctuary located about 20 km from Harda. The Narmada River flows and contains the nabhi kund (in the middle of the Narmada River). There are also many temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, from which the famous Pandavas temple was also built.
