Mandsaur District

History:

Mandsaur is a town and municipality located in the Mandsaur region of Border of Mewar and in the Malwa district of Madhya Pradesh in central India. It is the administrative headquarters of Mandsaur District. In the 19th century before the independence of India in 1947, Mandsaur was part of the Gwalior region. It gave its name to the treaty with Holkar Maharaja of Indore, who ended the Anglo-Maratha Third War and the Cold War in 1818. At the beginning of the 20th century it was the center of the Malwa opium trade.
