History:

Shamli was declared as a district in September 2011 and was named Prabuddanagar by then- Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati. In July 2012, the district was renamed Shamli by Akhilesh Yadav, who took office as Chief Minister in 2012. According to mythology, in Dopayug, Lord Krishna rushed through the city before driving from Hastinapur to Krkshetla, rushing to a pit stop under the Baan tree in Hanumantirashamri and drinking water from a nearby well. rice field. Later, a sign from Baba Bajuran Bali celebrated this sacred place known as "Shang Bali".
