District Unnao is a district of Uttar Pradesh in northern India. The Unnao district was founded by the British after the annexation of the Oudh State in February 1856. Previously, under Nawab in Awadh, the area was divided into several different districts or chakras. Purwa covered the eastern part, with Las Lavado and Saffipur in the north. Auras'parganas, on the other hand, were part of the Sandila chakra, while Baiswara's Parganas were included in the chakra of the same name, headquartered in Rae Bareli. After the acquisition of the United Kingdom, the area was originally called the "Pulwa District" and was based in Pulwa.
