About Mahoba


History:

Mahoba is named after "Mahosafnagar", a wonderful festive city celebrated here by the traditional founders of the Chandelas dynasty, Chandra Birman or Nannuka. Mahoba fought for independence in India under the guidance of Bundelkhand Kesli and Bundelkhand Gandhi Duwan Shuttlegan Singh and his wife, the brave freedom fighter Lani Rajendra Kumari. Lani also defeated incumbent UP Prime Minister CB Gupta in the 1958 by-elections. Dewan Saheb played his first Graddan before Achariya Binova Barbe.

Mahoba is famous for its 9th-century granite sun temple built in the Platihara style. There are various places where you can bring the glorious moments of that era to life. Mahoba is a city in Uttar Pradesh, India, in the Bundelkhand region.
