History:

Bhadohi came to Maharaja in 1911 during the first Maharaja of the newly founded princely state Benares, ruled by Maharaja Prabunarayansin. Bhadohi was founded on June 30, 1994, as the 65th district of the state. Before its establishment, it was part of the Varanasi district. The Bhadohi district is the district of Uttar Pradesh in northern India. The city of Gampour is the district headquarters. Bhadohi is one of the largest carpet manufacturing centers in India and is known as the "Carpet City".
