History:
Basti is a town, parish council, and administrative district of the Basti district in Uttar Pradesh, India. The Basti district is part of the Basti district. It is 202 km east of the capital of Lucknow. Basti was originally known as Weishishti. [3] The name Vasishtha comes from the fact that this area was the ashram of the ancient Rishi (sage) Vasishtha.
